I used to go to the gym 5 times a week in 2006. Now I don’t even go 5 times in 5 months. I know I need to get in there so that I can start losing the excess weight. To stay motivated, I have lined up a network of friends, and have promised each of them I will go to the gym with them. For example, I am going to the gym tomorrow morning with one, Thursday evening with another, and next Monday with a third friend. In addition to that, I met up with two friends today and set up a recurring monthly appointment with them so that we can share how often we went to the gym with each other. All these friends, in theory, should give me the accountability I need to take myself to the gym regularly.
If you have been having a hard time motivating yourself, try this out. If you don’t have a support system that can go to the gym with you, I will be your virtual gym buddy.
